Today, we’re excited to announce that Mailgun has once again become an independent company! Despite this change in ownership, our commitment to building the best email automation service for developers hasn’t changed. From the beginning, our focus has been about putting the developer first and while we will continue to build around this foundation it remains central to our vision for Mailgun.

In terms of what will be changing, as a standalone company, we will again have the flexibility to invest in everything from product to sales without having to compete with other initiatives in a much larger organization. This investment will help accelerate our roadmap and expand the capabilities of our product faster than we could have otherwise, made only possible through an investment by Turn/River CapitalScaleworks and Rackspace. Prior to closing, we had the opportunity to work closely with the Turn/River team and were convinced that they were the right partners to help Mailgun reach its potential.

We’re incredibly grateful for the time we had as a Rackspace company. In fact, Rackspace taught us an immense amount about the power of support, which provided the foundation for our managed offering. While we aspire to take as much of the complexity away from sending and receiving email as possible, the fact remains that at scale, achieving the best possible deliverability requires the expertise from a professional.

If you are a current customer, you remain in good hands. Nearly every Mailgun employee and all of the leadership is continuing with the new organization and excited about the mission ahead of us. Our offices will continue to be based in San Francisco, Austin, and San Antonio as we plan to increase our footprint in each of these locations.

Finally, we’d like to assure our customers that Mailgun is financially healthy, profitable, and growing, and as such we’ve recently opened a variety of roles across our engineering, support, sales, and marketing teams. If you are looking for a new opportunity where you can make an impact, we’d invite you to apply here.
