Single opt-in
Single opt-in is the process of allowing users to subscribe to email programs in one step. It typically appears as a popup box as soon as a user visits a website, asking the user to subscribe to the brand’s communication only by sharing their email address.
While a single opt-in seems a quick and easy way to get new subscribers, at Mailgun, we don ’t think a single opt-in is a good idea. Instead, we recommend using double opt-ins, which require new subscribers to confirm their email address in their inbox. This extra step ensures users input a valid email address instead of one riddled with typos and verifies each email address on an email list to be an authentic recipient instead of a spam trap.
