DNS TXT record

A Domain Name Service (DNS) TXT record is an authentication protocol used to verify domain ownership to other sources outside your domain, like inbox service providers (ISPs), mail exchange servers, and email clients. A DNS record is a *.txt file that verifies domain ownership.

DNS TXT records build credibility and reliability by authenticating a brand’s domain name and address, allowing email servers and ISPs to trust a brand’s emails and place them in recipients’ inboxes. To keep deliverability high, brands must ensure they have all authentication protocols in place, like DNS TXT records, SPF, DMARC, DKIM, and BIMI.
